I will definitely make this, Kiki, and I’ll let you know when I do! Loved your honest take on GP, and chuckled at your title :)

I am so happy to have found you and your writing. We are simpatico! Loved this read. I too perused Gwynnie's cookbooks (yes, she and I are close😂) and found some great recipes in there!

Now that I live in Florida I try to find cold/chilled meals in the summertime! I've never been a fan of cold soup, but I tried making gazpacho last summer and I loved it. It's on my summer food goals list again this year...more, more! I tend to use watermelon and jalapeño in mine.

Watermelon and Jalapeño sounds very promising, I shall try that!

Thanks so much! I feel the same way about you and your writing :)

Ohh the watermelon/jalapeño combo sounds delicious! I’ve never liked cold soup much, either, but I agree that moving to a warmer climate makes them more appealing!

Kiki I believe you can read my mind. I ADORE gazpacho and I look forward to trying your recipe. Thank you so much for sharing!

Talking of Spanish farmers and their lunches amidst fruit and olive trees, have you seen Alcarràs? It's a beautiful movie about farmland conversion into solar fields, all encapsulated in the life of a family of peach farmers in Catalunia.

Thanks, Sinù! I hope the recipe lives up to your gazpacho standards! :)

I haven’t seen it, but it seems right up my alley. It’s actually playing at the movie theater near my house so I’ll have to check it out!

It'll be the first gazpacho of the season, can't wait.

I'm not an expert in Spanish movies but I do like them, so if you happen to have any recommendations do share them :)

Happy Friday!

I’m actually embarrassingly unversed in Spanish movies and media in general. It’s something I’d like to change, though, so if I find anything interesting I’ll let you know!

I know you love it and have made it for me! I’m not a fan of this but maybe if I tried it more often I would love it! Keep up the good work with all these new recipes. New for mr anyway♥️

Thanks! Yeah, we eat it a LOT in the summer. It can definitely be an acquired taste for some people (myself included), though! Alex mentioned salmorejo above, and I think it’s a good entry point for cold soups because it’s milder than gazpacho. If we perfect our salmorejo recipe I’ll share it!

Love this, Kiki! Now I’m craving gazpacho. Well really, salmorejo, which we loved when we were in Spain. Maybe I need to make some this summer! Tomatoes are just now coming into season in VA! ¡Qué chulo!

Thanks, Alex! I love salmorejo, too, and I actually liked it more than gazpacho for a long time. I thought about including salmorejo in the newsletter but didn’t want to make it too long, so maybe for a future post. If you make either of them, you’ll have to let me know!
