First off...thank you sooo much for sharing my recipe. I had a delightful giggle at reading my own name in your post! Second, I've now added to my list those cinnamon puffs cause they look so good! I have to say, if I made mini ones I would be gorging on them all day! Half the size, half the calories right? ;) If you like muffins, you might like to try little French madeleines? They're little buttery cakes and with a bit of orange zest and dipped in chocolate, they're so delicious with a coffee.
Not sure if this is a thing in Spain or in the US, but triple cooked potato wedges? They're absolutely greasy and crunchy and so unhealthy but sometimes you need that.
Thank you for sharing your recipe in the first place! :) Oh yeah, you have to try the muffins... I honestly have been eating them two at a time since they’re tiny, so it’s like eating a normal-sized muffin anyway haha. I’ve had madeleines, but I don’t think the kind that have been dipped in chocolate. I’ll have to investigate!
Also triple cooked potato wedges sound insane in the best way possible. There was a place I was obsessed with in Chicago called The Bristol that had the most amazing duck fat fries--total indulgence but totally worth it!
You’re welcome, and thanks again for sharing the recipe early! I feel so honored to have been a recipe tester! And thanks for the shoutout on your blog!
I resisted The Bear for a while because there was SO much hype around it. Then I watched it and was like, "OK, yeah, I get it." It's one of the best shows seen in the last few years. I only wish there were more of it!
Yeah I get that, sometimes the shows with a lot of hype end up being disappointing, or at least not what you were expecting. I agree that The Bear was fantastic, though. At least it’s been renewed for a second season, even if we have to wait a whole year!
Muffins!! I have a question, please! Here in Spain, as you Kiki may already know, we have "magdalenas".
Could we say "magdalenas" and "muffins" are the same thing or is there any dfference between them? (Note: I love magdalenas, and that banana's muffins recipe... I have never tried nothing like that before, with bananas! 😃)
I loveeee magdalenas! There’s a chain here called Crustó that has excellent ones (or at least they used to; I went there all the time on the way to my old job but haven’t been recently).
I would say magdalenas are very similar to muffins. I get the sensation that they’re a bit more crumbly/dry (not in a bad way, more in a way that makes them perfect to dip in coffee!) compared to muffins in the US. There may be a greater liquid to dry ingredient ratio that makes muffins more moist/spongy inside, but I’m not sure. I’ll investigate some magdalena recipes and report back!
Now that I’m starting to get my taste back I’ll have to try the mini muffins! I can taste a little bit and believe me that makes me so happy I want to start cooking again and baking! It’s been so long I’ll probably gain a lot of weight trying to taste everything I couldn’t taste!

Ohhh I've had duck fat fries...my arteries were just filling up as I ate them. So delicious...
Thanks so much again for your testing help with the chicken!

I think you’ll like them! They’re great with coffee. Getting your taste back is worth a little bit of weight gain in my opinion!
