Mine with onions, please 😆 In Friuli (the region that sits on top my region, on the north east of Italy) they make "frico" - a cheese and potato pie that's filling, nutritious and heartwarming. I wouldn't mind a crossover between a frico and a paella (not for the purists clearly).
With onion and not very cooked, please! I'm not a professional, but the description and recipe sounds both great! Same as everything involving the traditions here! Have not time now but I'll cook one asap!! ¡Muchas gracias, Kiki!
I'm a concebollistas person. I have tried to make it once and it was an absolute mess. I love potatoes, I love egg, so why wouldn't I try this recipe. However, the part where you have to flip it is so hard and requires more wrist strength and coordination than I realised! I had mine a little runny so it was slipping and sliding and dribbling all over the place. Not sure how you could eat it as a tapa though, egg, potatoes and bread makes for a fairly filling dish, even if it is small!
Concebollistas unite! 😂 Your experience with making tortilla is why I’ve always only helped when David or his mom make it. I once tried to flip it and also didn’t have the wrist strength so we’ll see how it goes this time around!
Oh yeah, the pinchos are definitely filling! I usually split it with another person if I’m planning on eating anything else. But sometimes it just turns into a couple of rounds of tortilla haha
Yeah it’s interesting that there’s really nothing in common with the Mexican tortilla other than being round! I’m glad you liked the ones we made when we were in; we’ll see how I do on my own! 😅
Yes, the poll is hilarious! Tortilla is serious business over here. It made me happy to see that the concebollistas make up the larger percentage of the population 🙌🏻
Thanks for the good luck wishes! I’m not the most coordinated person so I’m picturing tortilla on the floor, but fingers crossed it goes better than I’m envisioning 😆
Whenever I have some leftover potatoes, I cut them up and make a tortilla. A very casual, amateur one, I'm sure, but so good. And I'd have to say, onions, please!
I'm in a vineyard in Rioja right now eating the best tortilla I've ever had and drinking red wine at 10am.

That’s amazing! No better way to start the day than with tortilla and a glass of rioja. I hope you enjoy your trip!
One question: does the tortilla have onion? 😂
... I can't remember!!!

Yessss for onions! 🧅💕😂 Frico sounds delicious- I’m all for a crossover between the two!!
🌰 my phone doesn't have an emoji for onions 😆 a chestnut will have to do!
Hahaha this comment made me literally lol 😂 Close enough! 🤷🏻♀️🤣
😘😆
Friends just made this for lunch recently. So very good.
You have good friends! Tortilla is so versatile; you can really eat it at any meal.

Another concebollista! I love it! 😂
Hahaaa! Love it! To tell you the truth, that's the first time I hear "concebollista"!! Sounds great!

Thanks so much, Cristina! And thanks for sharing the Artbites website; it looks really cool. Lots of good info there!
I’ve had the tortilla before when you guys were in and I loved it! Never had it like that before, I’ve always thought of it as a Mexican dish!

Oh yum. Making me so hungry. Wish I could have a slice of Ana or David’s tortilla right about now.
Am DEFINITELY a concebollista tambien.
Was chuckling at the “study” on the matter of onions — very serious tortilla data!
Good luck with your tortilla next week. Especially the flip! Can’t wait to read about the experience ☺️

Delicious!!
Thanks, Jolene! We’ll see how it turns out next week when I make it all on my own 😂
